A career built around difficult workplace decisions.
Stephen began his career with the CPSU/CSA, supporting Western Australian public servants with workplace consultation, terms and conditions, advocacy and commission matters.
He later served as Assistant Director of Human Resources for Serco Australia at Acacia Prison, advising the prison’s senior management team and director across workplace law, employee relations and human resource matters.
At the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, Stephen worked as a senior workplace relations consultant. His focus included employer obligations, performance management, workplace investigations and representation in the Fair Work and Western Australian industrial commissions.
Stephen founded SJF Work Advice in 2020 and also worked as a Senior Industrial Officer with the WA Police Union before serving as its Secretary for 13 months. He now supports employers and employees across sectors including local government, not-for-profit and real estate.
